I remember hearing "Ballad to the Cosmic Wind" on KUTE 102 FM in Los Angeles in 1984, and I looked forever for this recording. Apparently it was released on CD for about a week sometime in the 1990s, and the CD is pretty much impossible to find. I recently purchased the LP from a seller here on Amazon, and I couldn't be happier. I believe this was Grant Geissman's second solo recording, released in 1983. Very nice recording with top-notch L.A. players. Unfortunately, none of the other tunes are quite like "Ballad to the Cosmic Wind", though there are some tasty cuts to enjoy. Geissman's guitar playing is impeccable. Nice arrangements all around. But the recording has an overall radio-friendly vibe to it. One tune has Geissman singing romantic lyrics to a happy latin-pop rhythm, and I didn't really care for it. He's a phenomenal guitarist. The production is a bit dated, but that's to be expected. Recommended.
