I seriously can't say enough about the quality of these jump ropes! I purchased a green one for my 2 year old and a pink one for my 4 year old.- The handles are SO comfortable! The colors are vibrant.- The rope turns with ease.- The rope is cotton, not plastic, so no whipping your legs! Wow!- The rope length is sizeable to fit your child!- Gets your child moving.- AMERICAN MADE TOO from RECYCLED PLASTIC! Way to give Americans jobs and save the planet at the same time!Note: sizing the rope takes some muscle to get the top twisted off. It has a locking notch that you have to force past and then it untwists with ease. When you tie the new knot, don't trim the rope. Just let the excess rope fill in the hollow handles (so smart!!), recap it and twist it back on. Use some force until you feel it click over that notch again to lock back in place. It's not hard, just takes a little muscle to unlock and lock it again. Well made! Won't fall apart once locked! They have all the bases covered with this design. What a wonderful toy to own! I LOVE them! My children LOVE them! Will definitely buy another if these ever bite the dust. Being a child powered, not battery powered, toy I will certainly be getting them for gifts too.Green Toys is a great toy company! We own their teapot set, dishes, and two of their sand box bucket sets. I have never been disappointed with anything this company puts out. My kids love and use every toy they own from Green Toys, which really says it all.We got this for my 3 year old and she enjoys it. The handles twist apart so that you can adjust the length of the rope. You can only shorten the rope - not lengthen it. The problem is that the only way to shorten it is to cut it, so once we cut it for her size now, she won't be able to use it as she gets taller. So far we have not cut it for that reason. She got another cheaper jump rope and you can store the extra rope in the handle, so I actually prefer that option (but not other aspects of that rope). The other issue is that now that I've untwisted one of the handles, it doesn't stay shut well, so the other reviewer was spot on with that complaint about the handle coming apart. Like her, I may end up having to glue it shut as continually re-closing it is annoying. I don't see why the other reviewer had to throw it away, though! For the reviewers who haven't had this problem, my guess would be that they've never untwisted the handles in the first place. On the plus side the rope is a nice quality and weight as are the handles. For the price, I think this is a decent purchase and despite my complaints I am satisfied with it overall.Green Toys has made a winner with this fantastic little jump rope. The handles are made out of the trademark Green Toys recycled HDPE, while the rope itself is heavy-duty thick undyed cotton rope. The rope can easily be adjusted. You just grab onto the top and bottom of the rope handles, twist, and the two pieces pop apart. Loosen the knot, move it down, and slide the excess rope into the long part of the handle. You can actually double the excess rope inside the handle, so this rope can be shortened a great deal without compromising its later use as your child grows taller. Once done, you just twist the two pieces of the handle back together until you hear a satisfying 'click' and you're done. One minor complaint is that the rope, when fully extended, is a little too short for me to effectively use to demonstrate the concept to my four year old, who happens to be a little slower at picking up these sorts of coordinated movements. Anyway I'm 5'3", so I would say that this rope would be unusable to anyone above 5' tall. However, it can easily be adjusted in the other direction. My daughter is 3'4" and I had no problem shortening it enough to make it the correct length for her.So, bottom line, for the target age group this is a fantastic, well-made jump rope. I wasn't sure if it was worth the extra cost but took a chance in ordering, and I'm glad I did. It's worth it.I was looking for a jump rope for my 5 year old that is durable and heavy weighted. This isn’t extremely heavy weighted by any means but she jumps with it just fine. It’s the perfect length for a 5 year old to jump with and honestly, it would be perfect if it was made with a slightly heavier rope. Still, it gets the job done and my daughter loves it!My 6 year old LOVES this jump rope. I tried this out myself and the rope has the right weight to swing very naturally, unlike some of the cheap plastic versions I've used before. Adjusting the rope length is tricky. Took me about 10 minutes to figure out. The trick is that where you see the two notches in the top part of the handle bulb, you will need to squeeze your fingers hard on the top part where the notches are not. Squeeze hard until one notch pops out a little, then jiggle/lift until the handle comes apart. Hope this helps save folks some aggravation. Once the handle opens up, easy to adjust the length and tuck the extra rope within the handle's internal space when putting back together. I shortened it about 4 inches for my 6 year old and now works great for her.Absolutely love green toys! Have been purchasing various items from bath toys, to kitchen role play items for 4+ years. Love the colour, quality.Great quality , love that is eco, is packaged nicely in a brown cardboard box . Much better than cheap skipping ropesGreat qualityMy LG absolutely loves it, it’s def eco friendly, but a bit expensive for what it isWe send one of these every year in our Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes. Love sending good quality stuff over there -- they have enough North American garbage in their dumps already. ;) My daughter has one of these and it's been her only skipping rope for 5 years, and is still going strong. The rope gets dirty occasionally, but I soak it in a sink of warm, soapy water, and it always comes out looking new again. The handles look like old plastic, of course, but they are firmly attached still, which is what really matters. Thank you for carrying this!
